==Biography==

As a general rule, skunks don't tend to make natural basketball stars. Sonja Tinker (Bigfur, PIT) may buck that trend, but overall skunks tend to be adept at sports where agility and litheness are more apparent, rather than size and reach. However just like Sonja, there are exceptions to that rule - and Andi Sekforde certainly turns that perception on its head. Hailing from Pittsburgh, where he was both born and trained, Andi is unlike any skunk in the city bar Sonja herself, big tall and incredibly handsome. Such was his obviously alpha qualities growing up it gave the young skunk as many issues as it did perks as numerous suitors were clamouring to get with a guy who was unlike anyone else in the species, a skunk that looked the complete opposite of the typical lothario skunk archetype - neither skinny nor short, Andi was tall and of quite a size - an irresistable combination that led to girls fawning over him almost anywhere he went at school and University. Whilst fun at first - it soon became of annoyance - and Andi felt frustrated that no-one seemed to know anything about him bar his unusually adonis like figure. Naturally falling into a jock crowd due to his obvious athleticism, Andi may not have found his kin (he is quite a lot shyer and centered than a lot of his compatriots and had a tendency to steal pred girls from under the noses of his more commonly predator teammates) he did however find something that he could channel those frustrations into - basketball. Having natural skills at dribbling the ball behind his back without looking, he was quickly trained up to join the first team and has never looked back - continuing to condition his body and win admirers. Playing power forward, he would be one of the shortest power forwards in the league, but for his still large size he has deceptive ball handling qualities and uses clever behind the back dribbles to bamboozles guards who haven't been doing their homework. He is also relatively strong for his size and is not easily intimidated by the 7 footers he has faced up until this point. Becoming a huge success for Two Points University, he has even more admiration then before - and has started to enjoy the attention much more - knowing that those who love him didn't just love him for his looks but for the success he brang to the school and his exciting skills on the court. As a result, he became somewhat less shy and plays up to his stereotype as a 'skunk hunk' much more, coifering his hair and blowing kisses to the crowd. He isn't without some narcissism either, and is known for spraying bucket loads of aftershave on before each match. He has also gone through a contraversial procedure to chemically press his tail, removing the distinctive smell of a skunk - and replaced with a smell not unlike cologne. He bewitches wherever he goes, but whether he can bewitch on the court will depend if he can still perform at power forward up against larger opponents on a regular basis. He is a big shirt seller to the female demographic and affectionate and amorous fans follow him everywhere.

===Dakota===

He had hoped to go to his home team of Pittsburgh, but Andi was instead drafted by the Dakota Bikers. A natural fit for the team, Andi found adapting to franchise a cinch and showed promise in his early days. However as the money started to flow in from contracts and endorsements, it enabled an extreme playboy lifestyle which has now become his normal routine, and has continued to overshadow his currently fairly mediocre Bikers career to date. Andi lived with six girlfriends currently, who he engaged with in his own personal female entourage. It was widely reported the hedonistic lifestyle of Sekforde, (which included games of credit card roulette, champagne and sexual shenanigans) were much more likely to hit the papers than his actual basketball career. This has rubbed many people up the wrong way, including his teammates, and even former entourage girls who have released kiss and tells on this wild romantic rover. His physical qualities had so far kept him in the FBA, but many felt Andi had to start to apply himself if he is ever to become more than a sensational sideshow in the league, and a parody of himself.

The problem appeared to be how to stop. The attention of females and the protective circle he has formed around himself, but when you are as happy as Andi, why get off the rollercoaster? The answer came abruptly towards the end of his Dakota career when he nearly declared himself bankrupt. With no contract in sight, he tried to apply himself and started to train harder, but a crazed fan broke into his condo and attacked and shaved the skunk for spurning him at the stadium on one occassion. The fan got prison time, but the road back for Andi was long and traumatic, with the skunk experiencing severe flashbacks and confidence issues which he tried to get himself back. The skunk, now much meeker than people seemed to remember somehow captured the hearts of some fans who saw his attempts at coming back as brave. However Dakota were not willing to offer the bench-warmer a contract, despite a good final playoffs for the team. One of the famous harem - a Cypriot skunk called Stefani stood by his side throughout the therapy, but Andi's regret is that the skunk now had no interest in being any more than friends, Andi feeling she is 'the one that got away'.

===Saved By The Lone Stars and onto Oregon===

Believing the skunk was capable of changing, the basketball world was shocked when Texas offered the skunk not only a lifeline but a half decent contract with it. An emotional Andi accepted able to clear his debts and the now clean skunk turned to therapy, singing and training hard to prove himself. He had one relapse which nearly got him kicked off the team, a small party with the team at his home getting out of control as Andi fell into old habits, which brought the criticism of the league and attempts were made to make him the poster boy of male chavinism and inequality in the league. However, thankfully for Andi, he received merely a fine and Andi scared of losing it all again swore off alcohol and women and instead concentrated on his game and his friendships with his Texas team-mates, including Marcus Knight who has now become a role model to the skunk. In 2019, the skunk managed to break into the starting line-up for a consistent stint, albeit for a team still struggling to get anywhere near the playoffs. A new clean and clearly bulkier Andi tried to remain on the right track, is it all too late? With Texas drafting first in 2020 and bringing in Berty Lavoie-Williams in his position, Andi joined up with an agency in an attempt to boost his career and improve his public image.

Andi had quietly impressed fans as a benchwarmer and has become a 'steady eddie' amongst a struggling Texas side. His friendship with Marcus Knight even blossomed into a full blown bromance, with Marcus' kids calling him 'Uncle Andi', perhaps a real sign of how much Marcus trusts his mustelid friend despite the perceived image of the press. Andi has become a major part of Marcus Knight's family and the skunk is eternally grateful for the normality it provides him. He wants to pay Marcus back by making this a springboard for better performances for himself. With the franchise now on the move to Oregon to become the Swashbucklers, Andi is still largely the sober individual, although he has tried to bring more balance to his life again with mixed results, mainly because he is too frightened to ever mess up his life again.

Can Andi finally prove that he is beyond a joke? His biggest weapon maybe the fact many underestimate him.

I have reported on many games in the FBA over the years, and whilst Vegas is a welcome destination for pundits and reporters alike thanks to it being the entertainmemt capital of the world. That said, if you are a basketball purist l9oking for a genuine old-school raucous atmosphere, the Dynn Complex is rarely the place to come. Followed by a small hardcore, the Wildcards are more followed with intrigue by the city on large rather than true passion, fairweather fans and tourists looking for a premier experience being just as much a part of the fanbase. The Dynn is often a more considered affair than a coliseum of sport.

Tonight was different, and one of the most hair raising experiences I have had reportimg on pro basketball. The atmosphere crackled thanks to the return of the former Vegas star Lisa Belle DuPont.

A testy off season saw a complete rebuild for the Las Vegas Wildcards were deserted by their atar player after an alleged failing relationship for the point guard. The fallout created a whole new rivalry as players swapped between the Spirits and the Wildcards. The date has been set for months, the date when the mouse who walked out on her team for nearly nothing would walk back into the Dynn. A supporting cast of stars spurned created a fixture not to be missed.

Not since the days of Dylan Redfield on Dakota away days have I seen the arrival of a player be met with such a cacophony of boos. The yellow mouse looked a little troubled by the reaction, but if her warm up felt a bit shaky, her performance was unaffected showing her class. It felt like this was a game where everyone who had a point to prove proved their point. Rodger Umaechi rolled back the years, and looked a like for like trade with DuPont rather than the makewight he'd been made into. A couple of spectacular shots after gouls were bucketed by the genet Crosby Sutters.

The game was electric, high scoring and hi octane and went into overtime. It felt like if Lisa wasnt to score the winner, there was only one player who would. Lindsey Morrison had been denoted to third choice PG at Baltimore, she moved to Vegas to join up with Umaechi, and her late bucket near on took the roof off the Dynn, the border collie gesticulating wildly to the crowd, fist pumping and making herself an instant fan favourite. Vegas had won and put the Spirits on the backfoot for once.

The awkward to play Nikolay Volkov picked up Player Of The Game nullifying many an attack. But he will have to accept he was merely a supporting cast member of what was an incredible drama.

== Biography ==

The best word to describe MacQuilkin is "big". That goes both physically and in personality. At 6' 5", he's a great height for a guard, but at 270 pounds, he's a heavyweight at the position. It shows, as "The Paw" (or D'A as he has come to be known) had one of the biggest, most muscular frames in this draft pool. Basketball is a sport that rarely rewards being heavy, but MacQuilkin has an impressive feline speed and grace for his size. A crisp shooter, he's outstanding with the corner 3, where his powerful body matches up well against defenses. Inside he's more effective than most his height, able to bully his way into the paint, having the bulk to push back a defender and the speed to pull back and find the open look. Defensively he does little more than set screens as he can't jump well at all, despite the fact he does it a lot from the sideline.

One of the most energetic and gregarious personalities in the 2012 draft pool, the big cat loves pumping up the crowd and cheering from the sideline. Off the court, he dresses flashy and sometimes crazy, often wearing 3D glasses out and about. A big personality to go with his big body, he may be more effective to a team as a cheerleader than a goal getter. He also has big responsibities in the UK being on of the 'ones to watch' from the big push for the London 2012 games - and thus at home his life is looked at through a microscope - the US offering a much quieter lifestyle.

===Huntsville===

D'Angelo was tipped to be 12th but had an embarassing night at the draft falling down to 25th pick and a smaller contract then he had hoped ar the Huntsville Mayors. However, D'Angelo proved to have a better then average season for a rookie at a struggling side - and maybe shouldn't have been so easily overlooked for the rookie all-star game. He has since risen to the fore, and become a franchise guard for Huntsville, propelling The Mayors to the top of their conference in his third season. The team failed to maintain similar form in the playoffs and missed out on an FBA Finals.

===Wendy And D'As Personal Transformation===

After a whirlwind romance, D'Angelo currently dates Wendy Brown (Sabretooth Tiger, G) who has now come to play with him at the Huntsville Mayors. As a result of this relationship, a number of events occured. Firstly and most frivolously after their very public drunken tweets, #steak became the duo's meme after a night at a steakhouse turned into much, much more. More importantly however, the relationship between D'Angelo and Wendy saw a huge rise in the performance of the two players, propelling McQuilkin to become a franchise star in the 2014-15 season and won him the title of Most Improved Player. As a result of Wendy's relentless training scheme, the lion has also undergone an enormous physical transformation, with D'A now weighing in forty pounds heavier than his first appearance for the Mayors, and an eye-watering sixty pounds heavier than when he was chosen as one of the 'Ones to Watch' a year prior to the 2012 Olympic Games in London. In fact, so radical is the transformation, D'Angelo now struggles with 'alpha tendencies' which has not only allowed him to pack on more size but has made him more lustful, which has got him into trouble on numerous occasions with Wendy. D'Angelo is one of the few lions to be born as the runt of the litter to attain physical alpha status through body training, and many watch his career with interest. In fact, his new muscularity had caused many to speculate the lions form would dip, which it did in 2018-19 with a disastrous season.

===International Competition===

2015 was a career-defining year as he won the double with Great Britain at both World Tourney and more notably with Jake Turner and Ambrose Slade at World Jam, defeating Spain in the Grand Final. He captained the team at World Jam and the pictures of him lifting the trophy were telecast around the world, most notably back in his home country where he has now become more notorious yet again.

===Depression and Weight Gain===

After a poor 2018-19 season where D'Angelo struggled to maintain starting form and was dropped on many occassions, D'A decided to run away and escape from the pressures of his stardom and failure by holing up in a luxury penthouse in the UK. Here he decided to relax and eat pizza, but his depression spiralled into self sabotage, and ge started to eat his way jnto enormous trouble. Weeks turned into months and the lion packed on an eye-watering and belt busting 100lbs of weight eating thousands of calories a day. After a while, Wendy found him and together they started the long process of getting him fit again. Remarkably, the Mayors offered him a lucrative contract while he was still 375lbs. Six and a half months later, and thanks to the incredible Huntsville conditioning team, the lion lost all the gained weight in six and a half months, a few months earlier than expected and in time for the playoff push. Unfortunately it was largely for nothing as the team went out in the first round of the playoffs, and D'A was unable to take his place back in the starting line up away from Lauren Fash.

His bad luck continued into the off-season as not only were Great Britain embarrassed by South Korea in the 2020 Olympic Quarter Finals, but seemingly after a holiday away - Wendy and D'Angelo appeared to split up after several years in a relationship. The nightmare was completed when Huntsville management took the decision to trade D'Angelo away alongside Dylan Redfield (Red Deer, F) to the Tallahassee Typhoons, heated rivals of the Mayors. How will the lion cope without his partner in crime?
