It's a loud crowd here tonight in the Farigami Park stadium, folks. The teams in the Eastern conference play their final game of the 2021-22 FBA Season. What a long, waited moment this has been. Tonight, it's the Baltimore Spirits facing off the Albany Alphas. On the line for the Spirits is the division title which is up for grabs if the Lorain Firestorm can get a win.

1st QTR

The players take the court. Spirits win the tip.

The Baltimore Spirits get out to a good start in the first quarter. It was mostly the story of the mouse, Eliza Mae DuPont. She does her business finishing the quarter with 12 points and adding 3 assists to her name. The rest of the group contribute with the help of the Alphas' early foul trouble, putting points on the board from the free throw line.

The Alphas struggle to get their offense going in the beginning minutes of the quarter, no players reaching double digits and overall just struggling from the field finishing the quarter with 7 made field goals out of the 24 attempted.

Despite their early foul trouble and struggles from the field, the Alphas manage to stay within distance.

Spirits 24, Alphas 19

2nd QTR

Things take an immediate turn here in the second, with the Alphas firing back... hard. Everything goes their way. During the quarter, they up the intensity on defense, cause a lot of turnovers for the Spirits and go on multiple runs. Practically every player who stepped foot on the court for the Alphas put some points up on the board. They score a whopping 41 points!

The Spirits had no answer, unable to get any offense of their own even without the hounding defensive pressure of the Alphas. Players seemed lost on the court and broke so many of their own plays, running down the shot clock and taking last second shots. Towards the last two minutes it was Tia Terra getting points from the charity stripe and the mouse's two threes that prevent them from being down by 26 going into halftime...

Spirits 44, Alphas 60

3rd QTR

Getting too comfortable can bite you right in the [bleep!]

The Alphas increase their lead and hold it until things start to cool down for them. After knocking down some shots, they start to have a first quarter repeat, missing close to everything again and barely surviving the third, living off some free throws.

The Spirits got spirit. They don't give up here in the third quarter. That halftime pep talk must've fired them up real good because they come out from the tunnel guns blazing. Starting off, they take full advantage of the Alphas offensive woes and get back within single digits with a couple of baskets from the mongoose, Lisa Dunphy. Afterwards, it's Erik Toivonen putting up some shots from the low post and some contributions from the bench. Ruslan finishes with 6 points

At the five minute mark, from there it's back and forth between the two teams.

Spirits 83, Alphas 84

4th QTR

The Spirits jump to a good start, reclaiming the lead they had in the first quarter. A particular someone disappears, but everyone else holds their own against the Alphas. They go off and make the Alphas trail by 15 and the faces on the fans in the Farigami Park stadium start to get concerned. But they begin to fire back and erupt as the Spirits can't hold to the lead for much long and the Alphas begin to inch their way forward....

It's neck and neck and a hard battle for both teams to get a lead over the other. The crowd erupts as each team exchange baskets, the "Defense" chants roaring loud through the stadium as the time starts to burn low.

The Spirits don't get any offense from their star mousy. And the Alphas want to keep it that way. The don't allow her to get going, knowing how dangerous she is and they contain her well, forcing her to pass the ball for the remainder of the quarter. Her only attempt being a three which doesn't go in... by a mile... and the crowd mocks.

It is then a tied game at 109-109, with 3 minutes left, and coming in to the rescue is the Irish Wolfhound, Terry O'Toole. He clutches it and scores 10 points out here in the fourth, having been silent for most of it. All of his attempts go in. And to seal the dagger, he knocks down a three coming off an off-ball screen from the otter, Kassius Watterson.

The final horn sounds. The Spirits go down to the Albany Alphas, finishing their season with a 42-38 record.

Final Score: Spirits 110, Alphas 119
