Biography

The son of immigrants, Kalsang grew up in the suburbs of Chicago playing physical and aggressive games streetball with the neighborhood packs of players that came together for some afternoon fun. He had always been a big and strong bodied pup, able to play up against some of the older children of the neighborhood thanks partially to his own strength and partially to how well he took to the game. These games were an almost a daily event after school for him. But one very formative event for him occurred just before he entered high school. On the nearby courts he had arrived early and he had a run in with a couple of the local bullies that tried to work him over for the gear he had. But luckily for him a nearby police officer had witnessed the situation and stepped in to his aid. This event inspired him to work hard and potentially try and enter the police academy to become a member of the police force after he finished school and college. But he still used Basketball as a huge part of his exercise regimen rolling with the hits, learning how to use his size and strength to his advantage, not to mention the endurance and speed such a sport helps to give someone.

Once in high school he started to work out much more physically, using the weight machines frequently after he played basketball. The drive of the event only months earlier helping to drive him to work harder to do well in school. But eventually as several of his friends moved in to play basketball with the high school team, he followed them and tried out. His natural physical strength and learned skills in the hard knocks of streetball assisting him highly to perform as a larger body on the court, often as a power forward or a Center, using his strength to his advantage to box out opponents or to forcedly drive in for a layup. Eventually he graduated with honors and with a notable high school basketball career as he immediately moved straight into university at Chicago Bay taking up a major in Criminal Justice with a minor in athletic training.

During Kalsang's academic career he continued to play, easily showing his physical prowess as he continued to play the sport he loved. He earned the respect of his fellow players with his effectiveness in both offense and defense on the court. His performance continued to improve along with his physical training and experience, enough so that scouts started to find him as a potential candidate for the professional ranks in upcoming draft years. Soon enough he was approached by Akkarri as a potential candidate for needing the help of an agent to set his career rolling. Initially Kalsang turned the offer down, but took Akkarri's card anyway as he still had a long term plan of joining the police force. It took him some time and thought however as he weighed his options he wondered if he could help promote the work of the police or help their charities as a player in the FBA. The two options weighed heavily on his mind: Do as he hoped to do by joining the police force or to play the sport he loved as a professional? After a couple weekends of pondering the offer and his options he came to a decision. His love for the sport won out, and he could always help the police in other ways. He could always try out for the police force in the future, if this didn't work out for him. Best to try for a once in a lifetime opportunity first while another may be returned to. So he returned a call to Akkarri and graciously accepted the offer. And thus his entry into the draft had begun.
