The Totems nearly scored double of what the visiting Mayors did, rocketing themselves to victory in their first pre-season match while Huntsville slides to 1-2.

Edmonton ran with their projected starting line for the regular season, giving the home crowd a preview of things to come. The Totems simply dominated their court on both ends, shooting nearly 58% from the field and serving up 8 rejections as a team. The 2013 #1 draft pick Siegfried Romanoren (White Lion, C/F) worked the hardest on the court, dishing out half of those blocks en-route to a rebound double-double with 15 points and 20 boards for Player of the Game honors. The raccoon duo of Marko Sly (Raccoon, F) and Sanford Teeson (Raccoon, G) brought even more solid teamwork off the bench, scoring 12 and 10 points each.

Huntsville's star player Steven Standard (Stoat, G) continues to come off the bench in the pre-season, yet still played for half of the game. Unfortunately he was looking out of place in the flow of the offense as he missed all six of his shots from downtown. Fellow Brit Ambrose Slade (Eurasian Lynx, G) led all Mayors with his 12 points and 7 rebounds, surpassing veteran Jim McCormick (Badger, G/F) and rookie Dewitt Azad Ghakhar (Markhor, F/C) who contributed 11 and 10 points respectively. Coach Howard Schnitthund attributed his team's lack of offense to the impressive defenses of the hosting Totems, admitting that his own staff needs to work more closely on curbing their opponents' scores.
