There used to be a time when the basketball fan's equivalent for "when hell freezes over" was "when the Pittsburgh Keystones actually have a winning season". Not anymore, I say, as with today's victory, the Keystones have officially secured at least a .500 record for the first time in their team history.

Today's match was the third game this season between the Keystones and the Huntsville Mayors; each team had hosted the other once prior to this match, and both times, the home teams had won out. The Keystones, just like how they did in their victory back in January, came storming out of the gates aggressively with quick transitions, not to mention good command of the paint courtesy of Lance Freewell (Clouded Leopard, C), and by the time the first half was over, they had amassed a double-digit lead over their opposition. The first half seemed to wear them out a bit, though, as they struggled to keep their game up against the Mayors in the second half, who have been putting all their resources to that later game push all season. However, while the Mayors outscored the Keystones on both the third and fourth quarters, it was still not enough, and despite injuries to both Shirley Takamoto (Jaguar, F/G) and Brandon Dreyvus (Opossum, F), the Keystones won by seven to move within one game of the Mayors, not to mention claim their first season with 40+ wins. the Keystones still Freewell won the Player of the Game award for the Keystones with an amazing 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists, and sophomore fan favorite Terrence Tolliver (Pronghorn, G) had another good game with 18 points and 8 assists. On the visitor' side, veteran guard Steven Standard (Stoat, G) and rising swingfur D’Angelo MacQuilkin (Lion, G) had standout performances as well.

The Keystones and Mayors will meet again at the Mayors' home arena for the final game of the regular season.
