Biography

Coming from Peru to the United States is hard work, but Fiorella Lopez was a woman who put it in. Born in the impoverished parts of Trujillo to an overworked mother and absent father, she would be thrown into the workforce at the age of seven, being made to do a variety of low-quality and unsavory jobs for pennies at a time. Lost in a haze of pain, hard labor, and utter exhaustion from an overcrowded household, Fiorella would turn to the nuclear option. At thirteen she would escape her family in the middle of the night with papers in hand, ready to get herself to the promised land of the United States. After a year of working, Fiorella would run into a mysteriously-familiar maned wolf, who was on his way to get a job in Detroit as an inner-city basketball club’s head coach. Upon seeing her, he would take her in and vouch for her as she went to get her passport. It would be that day in the passport office that she would come to realize this maned wolf was her father, who had won the lottery a few years earlier and left his ex-wife and her family with what he would assume was a reasonable amount to live off of for a few years. When she told him the events of her early life, he would have the majority of his invested winnings wired to her and her family, and they would be on the next flight to Detroit, passports in hand, prepared for a new life in America. Once they landed, the basketball lessons began immediately, and Fiorella was an absolute natural. Her years of hard labor bringing in bags of supplies and chopping firewood had naturally toned her body into a explosive driving machine, which would earn her the name of “La Dinamita Negra (Black Dynamite),” stemming from her black legs acting as sticks of dynamite on the court. She would end up getting rather famous on social media for her skills on the court, though many speculate her long and powerful-looking legs may have played a part in her internet fame. She would go to a public high school in Detroit where she would keep working hard, practicing, and absolutely dominating the court, her height advantage and explosive lower-body-based power allowing the taller point guard to drive and shoot through and above most of her defensive opponents. She would get scouted by several schools including the Ohio State Mammalian University and Great Lakes Mammalia, but she would sign with the Lake Erie Anthro Institute on a full-ride scholarship, after having kept up a 3.4 GPA throughout high school, only struggling in her non-native English classes. In college, she would be deep into the school’s service programs, working on bettering her community as much as possible whilst she also played. And, as always, she was a court natural, having finally become fluent in English and Spanish and being able to call plays and lead her team to FCAA dance level status. She would average a double-double in points and assists, and she would be recognized with a LEAI Most Valuable Player award twice, in her junior and senior years. Once she would graduate with a major in sociology, she would immediately join the 2023 FBA Draft class, hoping to the gods that she would be picked from the litter and chosen, hoping that this dream would come true…
