Biography

Forset and his twin brother Forest were inseparable from birth, their bond as strong as the ancient oaks that surrounded their home in Duluth, MN where they grew up. They were always little scamps growing up and constantly were involved in pranks and shenanigan. But it wasn’t until they discovered the love of basketball that their true talents began to shine.

Forest, being only minutes older, was a natural sharpshooter, with a gift at shooting and getting open. While Forset, on the other hand, was the embodiment of raw athleticism. His legs were springs, propelling him to dizzying heights for rebounds and thunderous dunks. His hands seemed to have magnets, attracting the ball even in a crowded paint, while even with his stockier build he could run circles around some point guards.

Together, they formed an unstoppable duo on the dusty courts behind their school. Their classmates marveled at their synchronicity—the way Forest would set up the perfect pick-and-roll, and Forset would finish with a soaring slam. They were poetry in motion, and complemented each other well, so much so they were both accepted to Templeton University on scholarship. There they practiced against each other almost everyday, steel sharpening steel in not only their skills but plans of attack. Despite this and Forset's raw talent and athleticism, he struggled with self-doubt. The ability to score in bunches trumped the intangibles he brought to the game in his mind.

One night, Forset practiced shooting hoops under the flickering streetlights. The rhythmic thud of the ball against the pavement and the occasional bangs on the backboard, his only companion. He practiced tirelessly, hoping to bridge the perceived gap between him and his brother. As the night wore on, an old cougar emerged from the shadows. His silver-tan fur glinted in the moonlight, and his golden eyes held a spark of wisdom. He walked with an ever so slight limp, that if you weren't looking closely you'd not know it. He watched Forset for a while, quietly, before stepping onto the court.

“Yo release is too low`” the old man said, his voice gravelly yet kind. Confused Forset responded "Wha?" "and ya need to put your elbos in mo when ya release." the old man replied Forset stared confused, "who is this guy?" he thought to himself but he followed his advice thinking what's the worst that could happen? To his surprise, it swished in making a milky sound on the nylons that filled Forset with an extreme euphoric emotion and he wanted more.

The old man whistle "now dats a jumper. Keep practicin dat release an keepin those bows in young man." Forset turned to see the old man leaving. Who was he? and why was he helping him? he thought, which was quickly erased and replace with the desire for him to show him more.

"Sir!" Forset called out to the old cougar walking away "Who are you?" "Just an ol cat stickin his tail where it dont belong, I apologize young man." the old cougar replied. In actuality Nay long for the court that he dominated decades ago before it was cut short with a devastating injury and he saw a glimmer of that skill in Forset and had to "bother".

"Would you be interested in teaching me ..more?" Forset called out not wanting to miss his chance at having a mentor to unlock what ever potential he had to improve. The old cougar turned around and smiled "I guess i could learn ya a few of my tricks. The name is Nay Smith" He introduced him self as they shook hands.

Over the following weeks, Nay became a fixture in Forset’s life. They met every night, rain or shine, and worked on every aspect of Forset’s game. Nay taught him the art of footwork, the precision of shooting, and the importance of mental toughness. He shared stories of his own glory days, instilling in Forset a sense of confidence and determination.

“Remember, it’s not about measurin' up to anyone else,” Nay would say. “It’s about being the best version of yaself.”

Under Nay’s guidance, Forset began to flourish. His movements became more fluid, his shots more accurate, and his confidence soared. He started to see himself not as a shadow of his brother, but as a unique player with his own strengths.

One evening, as they wrapped up their training session, Nay handed Forset an old, worn-out basketball. “This ball has seen many a battles,” he said. “It’s a reminder that every scar, every setback, is part of ya journey. Embrace it young man.”

From that day on, Forset no longer felt overshadowed by his brother. He had discovered his own light, thanks to the midnight mentor who believed in him. He continued to hone that skill and improved his game by leaps and bounds. His improvement was noticed and was one of the reasons Templeton shocked the college world and made the Semi-finals of the FCAA Tournament in 2024. Both little displayed a new command of the game that wow and delighted spectators, even more so from Forset who seemed to step his game up even past his older brother Forest ability. At times, taking over the court as a near unstoppable force. They hung tough and battled with everything they had showing they were no easy opponent but ultimately they fell short as it end in disappointment. Forset, taking it as a sign he still had a lot to learn to be the player he knows he can be, practiced with even more desire and tenacity looking to prove to the world and himself he can be the best version of himself!

With that, The Brothers Little vowed to be better and show the next level, the FBA, big things come in "Little" packages.
