Dear Mrs. Kellogg,
Let me be clear and concise with you about a few things. As FBA office walls have ears and word get around quickly, we are aware of skepticism in regards to our team building strategy and I want to address that directly so you can hear the truth about our vision and judge for yourself.
Mainly, the concern over roster depth. While I will admit our roster is top-heavy financially, I want to make clear that a player's contract is not an accurate indicator of their talent level. We have stars on our team whom we've had to compete with other teams to sign and therefore their contracts are higher. We also have some bargain level gems and real talent on our bench who bring a lot of value on the dollar in what they can do for our team.
Basically what I'm saying is don't worry about our depth. Team staff and myself are very good at finding talent under the radar and maximizing on limited resources. Our team culture is such that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and we will have more than enough talent to compete.
Which brings us back to you, Mrs. Kellogg. We see you as one of those hidden gems which has flown under the radar. We see you not as a victim of a possible "lack of depth", but as someone who will lift the ceiling of that depth as part of the very bench unit who controls that. How can they say to you a roster has no depth when you are the one being brought in to help provide that depth? Do you not see that as a slight on your ability?
Make no mistake, Mrs. Kellogg. We need you to help provide that depth to our bench as one of our main role players. You won't be buried on a roster trying to compete, you will be depended on for us to compete. Around 20 minutes a game, should performance remain consistent, as one of our top bench players. We wouldn't have to worry about depth then.
One more thing. Instead of a one year rental, we want to invest two years at least in you. Not only to make sure you get paid your worth, but for stability, security, and consistency. We are hoping that by next year, you will comfortable in our system, playing to your potential and making good on this future investment. I believe in you, Mrs. Kellogg, for what it's worth.
If you and your family feel like Tallahassee is the best situation available to you, please let me know right away. We are trying to improve our bench depth at both ends of the floor and we feel you would be a perfect piece for that role. Hopefully you feel the same way, Mrs. Kellogg.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards, Sarah Lancaster Tallahassee Typhoons GM
