Biography
Jordan Marx was born to Peter and Jenna Marx in Springfield, Illinois, on October 9, 1994. The only child to Peter and Jenna, Jordan turned out to be a precocious and active cub. Jordan’s father was heard saying once, “I seem to always be fishing Jordan out of a tree. That kid climbed more like a cat than a wolf. I decided that I’d better get him into a hobby or a sport, just to keep his paws on the ground.”
At age 10 his Peter took him to a FBA game between the Newark Pride & the Stanislaus Thrust. Jordan was mesmerized by the game. His father soon realized Jordan was tracking every pass, dribble of the ball. He began asking his father about defense, fouls, scoring, etc. By the end of the game, Jordan had fallen in love with Basketball; he’d found his calling.
All through middle school, Jordan followed the FBA, new more than half the players, and teams. Soon, he was trying out for the school team, and made the 3rd string as a Point Guard. He may have been somewhat of a runt on the team, but his heart was in the right place; so was his playing. By the time he began high school, at age 14, he swore that he would try his best to get into the FBA.
That September of 2008, Jordan signed up for tryouts at Prairie Dog High School. Luck was with Jordan, and he was given a place on the team as a Small Forward (it didn’t hurt that a summer growth spurt brought Jordan to a hight of 6 feet, 7 inches). Jordan found his work cut out for him. Most of the other players were Wolves as well, and games got challenging with so many trying to be the “Alpha” of the team. But, Jordan clawed his way to the top, progressing from the Small Forward to the Shooting Guard (bouncing between both, when needed).
His efforts on the court, during his senior year caught the attention of a UFLA scout. At age 18, upon graduating from Prairie Dog High, he got a basketball scholarship to UFLA. Jordan was determined to excel as both a Shooting Guard and a Small Forward throughout his seasons with UFLA. His ability to put points up, with great Pick & Roll technique. His also was evolving his talent as a Cutter. Overall, his efforts helped UFLA to two appearances in the finals, finishing 10th and 5th respectively . Jordan has been working to become a draftee in the FBA, and while he didn’t make the list for 2015, he’s hoping to be drafted next year to a team who needs him.
