Biography
Early Life
Born and raised in St Albert from the outskirts of Edmonton as a half American & Canadian, Tyler Rudderfield as a pup was only a casual player to the game of Basketball. He’d practice on 3-pointers and shooting the hoop outside at a neighbouring play-park, but at the time he wasn’t as serious in wanting to get better at the game.
Tyler was one of the four children of the Rudderfield family, of two brothers and a sister. Known as Mark, Nate & Samantha. His mother Natalie Rudderfield is American whereas Jean-Paul Rudderfield, the father of Tyler, is Canadian.
Feeling dejected as a young age, Tyler felt there was no talent within him. He’d struggle to make friends & be less social in wanting to do activities during the school time, his parents became worried that their son was beating himself up mentally, feeling incompetent in wanting to achieve goals.
Tyler then spoke out to his parents that the reason why he was feeling this way was due to him being afraid of failure.
Jean-Paul, the father of Tyler, decided to help his son by playing the game of basketball with him and try to make him feel better. He began filming his son with a camcorder in hope to show some progress once Tyler grew up.
Tyler then grew more interest into the game of basketball and began watching the FBA games on TV, it was then that he was inspired to see the likes of Scott Parsons, Marcus Knight, Ryan Ottley & Scoonie Barrett playing on the court that would be the final piece on making Tyler in becoming a player. He would hopefully one day help bring inspiration for other mustelids to be part of the game.
High School Years
Tyler began to mature at the early years of high school, and the ambitions started to grow when he took gym classes, his coach was giving him sessions to help improve the otter's gameplay, and it was showing tremendous progress, Tyler’s shooting capabilities was growing, including dunking, and being patient with the ball when dribbling.
However, he started to expand other talents on sporting range but also study on gardening & construction. His future goal once he retires is to be a trainer/coach for a basketball team.
Growing up, his positive attitude and maturity at a young age helped him build on what position would suit him, he was trained on doing two positions as he felt more flexible and less restrictive by focusing with one position at the time.
University Years
At his late teens, Tyler decided to move away from St Albert and go to Dearborn, Michigan where he would continue his educational career at the Mustelid University of Michigan.
