Update Roster
Instructions
The buttons in the Update Roster Forms column below will send you to a special form for making changes to your team's roster. Each form has two sections, one called Roster and one called Floor time. The links in the Check Roster Forms column will show you the pages with the latest roster update data from each team.
Roster
The Roster section is where you pick which players play which positions. The current engine will allow any player to be put into any position, so there is no need to worry about Guard, Forward or Center designations on players, though those players will still be strongest playing their favored positions. Every position must be filled. If you submit a roster change, you must make sure every position has a unique player in it. After you have placed all your players, if you have any remaining Deep Reserve positions, you must choose the Unlisted Player ID# option. Roster changes that have duplicated players or are not fully filled out will be rejected.
Floor time
The Floor time section gives you some control over how much floor time each player will have. Normally floor time is controlled entirely by the engine making its best assumptions about how much time each player should have. To have the game engine control floor time, just use the default 1 value. To increased floor time for a player, type in a number larger than 1. To decrease floor time, type in a number less than 1, such as 0.8, 0.75, 0.25, etc. This system is fuzzy and is hard to explain-- you'll need to experiment to find the best values for your players. This section also must be filled out for the roster to be accepted, but it is perfectly acceptable just to use the default 1 value for every player. There is no need to determine floor time for Deep Reserve players, so they are not listed here.
Notes
This section may be filled out with any notes you have regarding your roster. The notes will be read by the commissioner, and can be read by anyone visiting your Roster update page.
Save Page
When you select Save Page, the information you've submitted will be saved to a special page reserved for your team's roster updates. These pages are called "Roster/[3-letter team code]" and can be viewed by anyone. They also can be modified by anyone using the buttons below, however all modifications are logged and tracked by WikiFBA. Only click on this button if you are the team's authorized Head Coach. If you accidentally go to another team's Roster page, it is not a violation as long as you do not click on the Save Page button.
ROSTER VIOLATIONS
Only assigned head coaches are allowed to modify team rosters. It is a serious violation for anyone else to modify a team roster, including General Managers. Any individuals found to have modified a team roster without prior permission will be subject to punishment including lost games, lost league privileges, suspension and possibly dismissal.
Game Day Update
Every scheduled game day, the commissioner will look at all of these Roster pages and copy the data to the primary roster form at Template:Roster/team. This will update all of the team pages. The data will also be copied to his personal record from which data will be generated to run through the engine. This process of lifting the data will happen around 7:00PM Pacific time (UTC-8) every game day, so Head Coaches are free to submit as many changes as often and as frequently as they like until the daily deadline.
