Biography
David W. Cartwright is known for his high-tempo approach and crisp passing skills, “Snowbird” was a spectacle to behold during his short college career. Born and raised in Tukwila, WA, Cartwright initially committed to Atwood College but later changed his mind and attended Ursa State University. After redshirting his first year, he put up 13.4 points and 6.4 assists per game during his first playing year. “Snowbird” hit the ground running for Ursa State as the starting point guard during his final year, averaging 17.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 2.7 steals in 20 games played while also setting the program record for assists. However, his season came to an abrupt end after receiving his third suspension for cannabis use, resulting in a disqualification for the remainder of the year. Listed at 6'3 with a strong 210-pound frame and good length, Cartwright as a bit undersized for a shooting guard, but compensates with tremendous athletic ability. Among the most explosive players in the country, Cartwright is a powerful two-footed leaper who provided plenty of highlight reel material last season. The owl also possesses terrific lateral quickness, giving him intriguing potential on the defensive end.
