Biography

Paramonimos Konstantidis, Grecian born and raised for most of young life, he was never wanting and had everything he could have asked for. While most would normally hear that and assume that he lived his life with his beak in the air, that's not so. He was proud of what he had but shared what he could, within reason, showing that he was, if nothing else, a considerate and generous vulture.

His life in Greece was sheltered, though, and in order to have him mature his parents took him with them to the states two years before high-school and brought him up in an upper middle-class area of New York, where he found it easy to break out of the shell with the help of friends who cared very little about the fact he was an avian when they found out how rather solid he was built, unlike others of his hollow boned kin and played all manner of games. Football, baseball and basketball became a way of life for him, sharp eyes and a keen nose making it easy for him to find his teammates in all three sports, but his stockier body proving to be most useful in football and basketball.

With two years of primary school to play with his friends he found himself in a high-school which was limited in its choice of sports clubs having no football team but instead had a basketball team which he eventually thought was better off for him as despite his bulk, he still had hollow bones and wasn't a fan of the overly aggressive nature of football, finding himself better able to make use of his bulk in basketball and actually finding his generous nature and sharp eyes even more appreciated when he showed talent for getting the ball into the right hands no matter where he was on the court. Passing was his in as his shot was poor, but wasn't without being able to bring himself to the net and bring the ball down on those who thought him scared to use his bulk.

Later on, as college took the place of high-school, he continued finding himself enjoying basketball as more than a pastime and dedicated himself to watching the game on TV and playing harder and faster than the rest of his college teammates, using his bulk, to push himself into the lane and clog it and rather than using the 'one flap rule' offensively, he used it to get himself from the outside of the key, above most of the hands on the inside of the key to pull balls away and into his team's possession with eerie accuracy of a scavenger, but then able to get that ball into the hands of his teammates on the outside.

The nickname 'Griff' came more out of a need for something shorter to call him than his given name which most of his teammates found clumsy, but it was well received enough even if it was nothing like his name at all, but not only was it an odd name but his acceptance onto PTU's basketball team would mark the first avian to make it in the university's history, despite the university itself being home to a number of other birds of prey.
