Biography
Born in a big popular city of Canada, Toronto to Abraham Lee and Mary Atkinson. Raymond, a small dragon boy was raised with a mix heritage on Chinese and English culture. His father is an eastern Chinese dragon descendant while his mother is an European dragon from England. Although Raymond was raised perfectly by his family and have decent school life, getting good grades and behave well most of the time, he sometimes had a hard time talking to people due to his shy personality. He also had troubles making friend since he was on kindergarten. He always thought that he was nobody because he was the only dragon in his Canadian school and dragons were not common in his country.
Raymond often getting asked by his teacher and parents that what he wants to be in the future, he often said he doesn’t know yet. Since Raymond doesn’t join any club on after school, mostly because he doesn’t have any interested on them. Interesting enough, Raymond’s family have history of sports interested. His family mostly interested on basketball and swimming. While the little Raymond doesn’t know which sports that suits for him. That is when one day, their family planning to have a reunion party with their relatives from Singapore and they went to their local stadium court to watch a sports match. And that is when he found something that he interested, basketball. He was amazed by it especially how the players handle the match very well. Then one of his cousins, who was from Singapore and also a military service member on his country and also wants to become a basketball player, tell him maybe try basketball. As Raymond remembers his cousin often play and show his basketball skills during their childhood. Raymond then agrees and thanked to him for introduce basketball to him. Every day, he would come home and started to play basketball by himself and learn by his cousin and also videos from the internet.
When he started high school at the age of 13, he wanted to start a new life to become ‘someone’ else. He doesn’t want to feel like he used to back then, so he joined the basketball team one day and was really excited about it. However, he didn’t expect it to be so hard, as he always watched on TV or played with his friends and family. At this time, his body was a little fat and had barely muscle to it. He was constantly getting scolded at by the coach and blamed by his teammates, which made him almost anguish in front of them. After the practice almost ended, he ended up running away to his home and try to forget the incident. He was feeling hopeless after that and decided to leave the club after one day because his body couldn’t handle it. He was feeling embarrassed by it.
However, one day his family was informed that his cousin was involved in a military accident that caused him in a comatose and legs to be fully paralyzed and was unable to play basketball anymore. Raymond was shocked to hear it and he was in a despair of how he doesn’t know he will tell his cousin about this. But then he remembers that his cousin told him to never give up and there’s always many ways to achieve one dream, he was then feeling motivated and he wanted to try again. By the age of 15, he went to the same stadium that his family went few years ago. This time, he observing the players again and watch a match that was going on currently. He then discovered the players have a unique built and different skills on how to play them. He then realized his mistake on it and finally know how to do now. In this time, he won’t give up for his dream and for his family and his cousin.
Then after that, he started doing his own private workouts with the help of his friends and family. It was hard at first but as he gained little muscle, he got used to it and felt a little bit stronger than before. After a few months of exercise and workout, he had slimmed down and had some muscle on his body and went from 5 ft 6 to 5 ft 10. Although not very buff or tall enough, he was satisfied with it. He remembers that he wants to be like the current FBA player, Todd Hu, who is also a dragon player like him and also one of his inspirations to become a basketball player when he’s watching a FBA match on television.
It was near the end of his high school year, he finally had enough confidence join the basketball club and prove that they were wrong. The coach and the other teammates were unhappy on his return at first but he was willing to accept the challenge anyway. After showing his skills and improvement, the coach was impressed by his new character and the teammates started to praise him more. He never felt like this feeling before as he was used to constantly getting ignored by other people. After the “hard” first day of training, the coach finally accepted him as part of the school basketball team. He was happy with the answer he got and he thanked his coach and everyone that supported him, especially his family.
After that, he participated in several basketball competition during his last high school years and in his current university years, thanks to his determination of never giving up and his people who were supporting him. As of now, he was suggested by his teammates and coach that he should join the FBA after the graduation, to pursue him to become a basketball player. He was then agreeing and hopefully to become what he wants, as a small dragon to bring luck to everyone around him and his family and friends.
