Rourke Danyals is a male cat who is the current coach for the Albany Alphas.
He was originally hired on with the Albany Alphas to be a General Manager in 2011 after the team's previous General Manager, his half-brother Darius E. Mal'nioto, was discovered to be attempting to drive the Alphas into the ground in order to make a larger profit off their losses. Danyals and several other players uncovered these plans, and was offered a job on the spot to replace his brother, as he "clearly showed more care" for the team than the previous manager.
Due to criticism for taking an overly "hands-on" approach as a general manager, Danyals was fired as Manager and rehired as the team Coach in 2013. Since then, he has been working to rebuild the franchise, relying more on the interpersonal relationships of teamwork to augment the fundamentals of basketball to create a tight-knit family among teammates.
Early in his coaching career, Danyals had also been criticized for having a background in media relations instead sports management, but after bringing the Albany Alphas to the Finals in 2015, just 2 short years after his coaching debut, other franchises have been considering adopting his approach to team-building as an alternative or supplement to their own coaching methods.
Danyals helped lead the Albany Alphas to a ring in 2016.
In 2021, Danyals was brought back on as GM once more to the Albany Alphas.
