Biography
Born in the suburbs of Sendai, Kyomi was almost born into a street baller life thanks to her parents’ love of the game. She played in the streets a lot while growing up, with her parents, friends, or anyone that wanted to. During the summers of the years 2014 to 2018, one player in particular always proved to be a challenge for her, that being her cousin Kyler from the US, who came to visit during the summer of his high school years. The two formed a pretty close bond with each other both on and off the court, although at times it was competitive between the two.
As she got older her skills got better, and she also grew to a respectable basketball height of 6'3 by the age of 18. Her height as well as her skills on the street which included playmaking and her ability to drop defenders got the attention of the Sendai Comets who offered her a deal for the 2019-2020 season.
Of course being young, the team had her start as a bench player, but over the season she slowly made her way up the rotation to 6th fur. And at the end of the season she got a big shot to prove what she could do. Sendai's starting point guard got injured in morning practice, and as such Kyomi got to prove her worth. She led the team to a victory while scoring 15 points and getting 7 assists, which proved to be enough for the team to re-sign her for the following season. Her good performances also got her into the 1st all rookie team for the season.
Going into the 2020-2021 season, Kyomi learned that Kyler declared for the FBA draft, and was picked quite early as well. Learning about that set a spark off in the young kitsune. She wanted to prove she too was worthy of being in the FBA, and not just a name related to a player. Being Sendai's starting point guard for the season, she had a stellar season of 18.7 PPG and 10.2 APG, which was enough to place her into the 2nd all NKBL team. During the course of the season her parents worked on getting her a visa and trip to the US so she could be there on draft night. Come the end of the season her parents gave her a wrapped gift. Inside was a plane ticket and approved visa for her to go to the states. Her big chance was finally upon her. She was ready and determined to rekindle that relationship with Kyler, and maybe even prove to be the better Inari.
