Biography

Among seven and not being the first or lastborn...naturally it can become a bit of a task to stand out among them. Yet Laura has managed to do that for at least a couple of reasons...there's a few layers to it sure but stand out she has. Let's...unpack this a bit shall we?

Early Life

Laura always seemed quiet and reserved even as a kit. Asked for very little and usually spent her time with her several siblings. To her it was like having live-in friends. It was often outside of that where she'd struggle. She seemed to rarely get jokes and took a lot of things said at face value which led to some awkward moments and some perhaps thinking she had a bad sense of humor.

Her teachers always seemed to understand Laura. always to the point and concise, no clowning around at all. She sat down, asked relevant questions, handed her work in on the dot and it was always clean and neat. Some might think it was almost unnatural for a gtade schooler. Every time she wrote, drew or painted there was never a hint of a wobble in any of her lines.

It was around the age of nine where Laura would pick up a basketball for the first time. Just a simple night at home in the driveway with her older brothers, playing a few rounds of knockout and around the world. But from then on it had become a study and obsession of hers. However this wasn't simply watching highlights, she'd watch at least two FBL games before she went to sleep, making every note she could think of on what she'd seen many of those notes in drawn pictures.

Wrapping up school and Onward to the FBL

Most of Laura's school life was fairly unremarkable in most aspects. Not exactly the most standout of people but by the time school was up Laura had become quite spectacular in many aspects. Very astute, skilled as an artist...but basketball was where she shined the brightest. Despite standing the smallest of the Reisman kids barely over five and a half feet she was as much an artist with the ball as she was with a brush.

Her ability to cross you up on the dribble just as skillful and lethal as her ability to knock it down on a pick and pop play, she was special...a pint-sized punch where you had no idea how she was gonna test you. Now, just how could she test players at the next level? A question she'd soon learn. Being picked up by the Gold Coast Sharks, she initially played off the bench in the heavy minutes before recieving the starting job do to their point guard getting a season ending injury.

Most saw her height for a disadvantage, thinking the Sharks were crazy handing this short rookie the keys to the offense. Like a lot of her life however, Laura just kept it tuned out, never seemed to phase her even in the slightest or even take it as an insult or criticism. She always kept her head down and worked, that rookie season scrappign a way to a surprise playoff slot and the FBL's Rookie of the Year award. Known more for her stiff mannerisms and ridgid speaking patterns, this was a rare show of emotion for her as she accepted that trophy.

Throughout her three years in the FBL, Laura would only dazzle and improve further as she learned her matchups, stating herself that every starting guard in the league had a day where she'd study their game intensely, even having days where she'd study their backup guards. A student of the game might be an apt descriptor but perhaps she goes beyond that where one could call it borderline obsession. However she said herself she leads a perfectly healthy balance of work and life.

In a way she'd mastered the FBL and it's challenges. She knew those opponents and how to outplay and outwit them...bigger challenges awaited. Such as the FBA, where many of the best would show their skills. She had to know now if she could handle this next great challenge.
