Neil Warren is a male nile monitor guard who last played for the Hawaii Kahunas.

Biography

Neil's high school didn't have a basketball team. Hailing from a working class family, he learned the game on the streets, during his youth, and spent most of his free time on the Streetball court near the beach of his hometown Hilo, Hawaii. The sport came easy to the tall monitor lizard, however, being of a cold and methodical nature, he disliked the lax rules that come with the Streetball style, and the flashy attitude of his fellow players. With no chances of playing Basketball professionally at this point, he was determined to create an environment that better suited his tastes. Neil utilized the pride of other reptiles, and their bitter rivalry with the birds (who made up the majority of the Hawaiian furry population, and prior to Neil's efforts pretty much owned the courts) to organize the players around him. What at first proved to be difficult, eventually picked up speed, when Neil's cold blooded friends realized that their strategy based play gave them an edge over the unorganized birds. Years later, no one was surprised when the calculating lizard made it into college with a mathematics scholarship. While friends and rivals alike agreed that he left quite the legacy, he himself decided to not ever look back when he departed for Honolulu. Neil isn't the sentimental type. Being able to play Basketball with a professional college team, he now had everything he ever wanted. When he joined the Hawai'i Talons, he quickly gained a reputation as an excellent point guard.. The keen lizard eyes on the side of his face give him perfect court vision and he always knows exactly where every single player is positioned, during every second of a game. Moreover, his long, clawed fingers give him perfect grip, making it very difficult to snag the ball away, once he has it. Combined with excellent passing skills, he always gets the ball into the right hands. Neil doesn't mind taking the backseat when it comes to scoring, because he knows that he is more valuable as an assistant, helping many of his teammates to really shine on the court, and people like that about him. They do not, however, like his bossy attitude, because if you want to be on his good side, you better play exactly as he demands. Neil likes acting as the floor general, but the chilly lizard doesn't have the winning personality that would help him take a leadership position without making some enemies on the way. The cold blood does have an advantage, though. Neil never loses his temper, and always shows the same performance, no matter how desperate or heated the situation may be. Now Neil hopes to enter the FBA. He is ready for a new challenge.

2012 Draft

After being rated #2 in the 2012 Draft Class by Donald Smith, he slid to #3 in picks on draft night.

2013-2014 Season

On March 20, 2014, Warren was bought out of his rookie contract, sending him into unrestricted free agency for the remainder of there 2014 season. Alaska then picked up another unique species, Beulah Rollinghouse (Dung Beetle, G) out of the D-League.

Three days later on March 23, 2014, Warren was signed by the Williamsburg Minutemen who had just bought out Joshua Koda (White Tiger, C) to clear space on their roster for the reptilian point guard. He reportedly had received another offer from the Pittsburgh Keystones, but due to his being in unrestricted free agency, he was permitted to accept a contract greater than league minimum. The Minutemen had offered a larger contract, convincing Warren to sign with their team.

He was also lured by the warmer weather.
