Marshall Anderson-Rhodes (born May 1, 1994) is an American professional basketball player with the Tallahassee Typhoons of the Furry Basketball Association (FBA).

Biography

Marshall Anderson-Rhodes was born on May 1, 1994 in Philadelphia, PA. While being bred and raised in the blue-collar city of Philly helped show young Marshall what it meant to have a strong work ethic, the tall, skinny cub never really needed to experience it firsthand. His father was a wealthy lawyer and stock market enthusiast. His mother was an experienced dentist's assistant. And Marshall spent most of his childhood growing up in the high-end suburban neighborhood of Queen Village in Southern Philadelphia, able to afford most of the luxuries and privileges that are of great benefit to up-and-coming young athletes (as well as a few not-so-beneficial luxuries).

A thrill-seeker to the core and fearless from the time he could crawl, Marshall indulged in many extreme activities growing up and throughout his teen years. Whereas most kids were too wrapped up in video games and the internet, the daredevil leopard was into a mixed bag of extreme sports and activities, including skateboarding, BMX, parkour, martial arts, gymnastics, rock-climbing, paragliding and even skydiving. Basically anything that presented itself as a physical challenge requiring speed, strength, dexterity, endurance and skill, he was into it. He had achieved a junior black belt in karate at the age of 14, gone skydiving 20 times by the age of 15, and not only climbed to the top of Philadelphia City Hall without gear at the age of 16 (and boy did he hear it from his father afterwards) but also retested and earned his adult black belt in karate that same year.

An extremely competitive fur, Marshall always enjoyed pushing his body to the limits and trying to succeed at everything he did. At the age of 12, this pursuit of athletic excellence led him to basketball. Seeing that his friends enjoyed playing the game on weekends and after classes, Marshall asked his father to hire him a personal trainer to teach him the finer aspect of the sport. His father, always the supportive kind, agreed. And pretty soon his school buddies stopped playing with him, complaining that he was just too big, too strong, and too good.

Not surprisingly, Marshall fell in love with the game and opted to continue his private training, even while starring at center for his high school varsity team. After being named a High School All-American and one of the Top 50 high school ballers in the country, he accepted a scholarship to go across the state and play for Anthro Academy of Pittsburgh.
